Fortunately, for people who live in the Emerald City, innovative chefs like these often showcase their culinary creations at the many food events that occur in town throughout the year. And, lucky for us at Eleanor, all of them are just a short distance from our apartments in Roosevelt. From now til the end of the month, you’ll be able to taste and fall in love with Pacific Northwest flavors through one or more of these awesome food events in Seattle.
Dine Around Seattle
There’s no better way to get a feel for the Seattle food scene! There’s a special kind of variety you get with Dine Around Seattle. From March 5 – 23, restaurants around the city will be serving up three-course menus at fixed prices. You’ll have both dinner and lunch options to choose from, and some of the menus also include drinks! Tickets range from $22 to $44, and some of the events will are happening right around the corner from Eleanor Apartments!
Also, as an added bonus, you can take pride in the fact that you’re helping to provide meals for others. If you make your reservations through their website, Dine Around Seattle will make a donation to the Rainier Valley Food Bank, a local organization responsible for feeding 12,000 people each month. All in all Dine Around Seattle is an exemplary food event in Seattle working to do some good.
15th Annual Barleywine Bacchanal
This festival is named after Bacchus, the god of wine and ritual madness – need we say more? Actually, we probably should. The beer lovers at Eleanor Apartments understand the power of barleywine, but for those of you who are unfamiliar – it is a strong ale that can sometimes get up to around 12% alcohol by volume. The Barleywine Bacchanal will be held at the Beveridge Place Pub in West Seattle, which is about 30 minutes from Eleanor apartments in Roosevelt, March 16-19! One of the booziest food events in Seattle, participating patrons will have access to thirty rotating taps of barleywine and the taps will change every day, so it might be a good idea to plan a few visits.
Some might consider Taste Washington the mother of all Seattle food events. Being that this is the 20th year of the wine and food tasting extravaganza, it’s understandable that it has earned the reputation as one of the foremost food events in Seattle. From March 23 – 26, close to 300 wineries will pour their best wines, and over 70 restaurants will prepare gourmet bites. The main party will happen at CenturyLink Field Event Center where you will be able to pay $95-$210 to eat and drink until you can eat and drink no more. If you live in or around Eleanor Apartments, you’ll be pleased to know that Taste Washington is just a quick 20-minute jaunt from the Roosevelt neighborhood.
St. Patrick’s Day in the Market
Many of the residents living in our Roosevelt Apartments are fans of the St. Patrick’s Day holiday. Because of this, we know we can’t talk about March and food events in Seattle if we don’t mention a St. Patrick’s Day soirée. The famous private chef Seattle Chef Joe has put together an Irish feast that will be served in the Pike Place Market Atrium Kitchen. If lovers of Irish fare purchase a St. Patrick’s Day in the Market ticket for $110, they will be able to enjoy four courses showcasing traditional meals such as Irish croquettes, and corned beef and colcannon. Hurry, St. Patty’s Day is coming up on March 17th!
Arcade Lights at Pike Place Market
Arcade Lights at Pike Place Market is a quadruple threat. For just $60, you’ll get to taste cocktails, cider, beer and food from more than 70 vendors. Few food events in Seattle will let you eat as much as you want, but Arcade Lights is proud to be one of them. Yes, that’s right – unlimited food. This event takes place at 7 p.m. on March 25 in the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall.
Washington Brewer’s Guild Cask Beer Festival
Do you love beer? Do you love beer that is fresh? More than 40 breweries in Washington will set up shop just 20 minutes from our apartments in Roosevelt. Each will be providing naturally conditioned beers that are unfiltered and untouched by carbon dioxide. If you’re ready to take your love of beer to the next level, mark your calendar for a visit to the Seattle Exhibition Hall on March 25.
Taste of Georgetown
If you’re looking for incredibly affordable food events in Seattle, Taste of Georgetown should be on your list. Georgetown is one of Seattle’s oldest neighborhoods and is home to several restaurants, bars and artistic establishments. For only $20, you’ll get five tickets to sample novelties, drinks and food from 28 Georgetown locations.
