Happy Halloween from Eleanor Apartments! Last week, we broke down the best ways to enjoy Fall in Roosevelt. This week, we’re taking it one spooky step further to break down the best ways to enjoy Halloween if you’re in Roosevelt, Ravenna, or Greenlake. Between the trick-or-treating, the local events, and the overall neighborhood vibe, there’s no doubt that Roosevelt delivers the quintessential Halloween experience – you’ve just got to know where to look and where to go! But, lucky for you Eleanor Apartments has the inside scoop – here goes:
Trick-Or-Treating In Roosevelt, Seattle
Ravenna and Roosevelt are among the top 5 neighborhoods in Seattle for Trick-Or-Treating, and it’s easy to see why. With the perfect balance of shops and businesses, along with residential homes, sprawling streets, and enough colors in the Fall Leaves to rival a rainbow, Roosevelt provides Trick-or-Treaters of all ages with an idyllic experience of Halloween.
If you or the youngster trick-or-treaters that you’re chaperoning are after a more traditional, house-to-house trick-or-treating experience, you should know that the neighborhoods around Ravenna and Green Lake are indeed the best spots in NE Seattle. The Streets are wide and well-lit; the houses are big and full of candy. If you’re not sure where to start, just head to the parks. Many groups use both Green Lake and Ravenna Park as meet-up spots before venturing out into the adjacent neighborhoods. When it comes to trick-or-treating, up here, you can’t lose.
If you’ve got toddlers to look after, you’re probably looking for a more mellow, contained venue for trick-or-treating this year. If that is indeed what you’re after, there’s no better place near Roosevelt than University Village. On Halloween Day, from 4-6pm, participating merchants will be handing out candy for young trick-or-treaters. Don’t worry parents – there will even be some treats for you as well. Don’t Miss it!
Woodland Park Zoo’s Pumpkin Bash
If trick-or-treating within a shopping center isn’t quite your thing, there are still more options for safe, yet fun Trick-or-Treating. Case in point: Woodland Park Zoo’s Pumpkin Bash! Head on over to the Woodland Park Zoo, just across Green Lake from Eleanor, on Oct 29-30th from 9:30am-3pm. Delight in the weird yet wonderful sight of hippos, bears, elephants, monkeys, and others smashing and stomping pumpkins. Plus, you can enjoy some good old fashioned trick-or-treating, along with other special activities throughout the entire zoo! But wait – there’s more! Zoomazium, the zoo’s indoor play space, will be transformed into Boomazium, a Halloween-themed indoor play area with storytelling, puppet shows, face painting, games and more! The Pumpkin Bash will definitely give the most bang for your buck this Halloween!
Events for the Older Halloweeners
Hey, we get it! Traversing neighborhoods for the prospect of free candy might not appeal to older Halloween enthusiasts. That’s fine – if you’ve outgrown trick-or-treating and you live in Seattle, you’re lucky because there’s still a ton to do. Here’re a few spooktacular events near Eleanor, just to give you an idea –
