It may not surprise you to hear that Seattleites love their coffee. Sometimes we think that entire city might shut down if all the coffee suddenly dried up. But that’ll never happen; you can’t walk ten feet in Seattle without running into an amazing local coffee shop. That’s why we at Eleanor Apartments feel it’s our duty to give you a rundown of some of the best local coffee shops in the Roosevelt neighborhood of Seattle. So, prepare to get your caffeine buzz on. Here is our list of the top coffee spots in Roosevelt, Seattle.
Broadcast is a popular Seattle franchise and a great place for those freelance, laptop warriors out there. The shop by Eleanor is conveniently close, just north of 65th street on Roosevelt Way. Make a quick stop here to grab a coffee, beer or cider, and a Mighty-O donut. Or spend an afternoon studying or working in a very comfortable and spacious atmosphere. Additionally, if your work or study requires some collaboration, Broadcast provides long tables that can accommodate bigger groups.
Here, you can get more than just good coffee. Seven Coffee Roasters also runs a small convenience store where you can pick up some sugar, butter, and other essentials. They also offer fresh bread and pastries along with a great selection of beer and wine. The owners believe in promoting the success of the Seattle economy, which we wholeheartedly endorse at Eleanor Apartments. They offer treats from local favorites such as Sweet Caroline’s Jams, Full Tilt Ice Cream and Honest Biscuits. Moreover, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that Seven Coffee Roasters is one of the only local coffee shops in Seattle that serves homemade Pop Tarts. You heard us right – homemade Pop Tarts.
In addition to serving coffee at their several retail locations, Hermiker is also a wholesale coffee roaster that provides beans to a number of other outstanding coffee shops throughout the Emerald City. They firmly believe in choosing and using coffee that is grown on small farms. This, in turn, helps these farmers grow their business and create jobs. The coffee is roasted every single day, and it’s really a standout, not just in Roosevelt, but throughout all of Seattle. Be sure to check them out on University Way, just north of NE 56th street.
Wayward has been serving the people of Roosevelt, Seattle since 2011. They are self-described as “an independent coffee haven for geeks”, and host a variety of fun community meetups and events. If you’re looking for things to do during the week, stop in every Wednesday to play some board games, or catch a classic science fiction flick every second Saturday of the month. They also offer an assortment of vegan and vegetarian delights along with their coffee, most of which originates from organic, shade-grown coffee farms.
